Troop 135 would like to thank you for taking the time to find out about this years car show.  This is a very import year for the Boy Scouts of America because it is our 100th Birthday! To make it even more special, This is the 90th year of the American Legion being a chartering organization for the Boy Scouts. Though the a Troop can be sponsored by any one of many civic organiaations, our group, Troop 135, is sponsored by the local Post 81 of the American Legion in Leitchfield, KY.

This year we are going all out to make this our best show ever, and the membership of the American Legion is here to help! We of course want everyone to attend, but we especially would like to see ANY and ALL veterans and scouts from the area out to mingle.

We have made several changes this year starting with the Poker Run scheduled by the Post after the Grayson County Labor Day Parade.  Anyone intersted can meet up and the Legion Hall located across from Home Plate off US 62 North in Leitchfield.  Of course cars are welcome anytime during the day at the show, but we have pushed registration back to 3:30 in an attempt to let some of the scorching heat subside and to give folks time to clean their cars.  We are also having a pig roast that should be very tasty.  We will once again have our Corn-Hole tournament that seemed to go very well last year inspite of the weather!

We hope to make this year better than ever!  We won't go home until everyone is ready.  Hopefully it will be a day of fun and freindship for all!

In the past, a lot of competitors said the trophies did not matter, but apparently to some people, that is just not true!  Of course trophies are normally very expensive and counter to raising money, but last year we found a way to make the awards we do give more meaningful and cost less!  In conjunction with the BSA Woodworking Merit Badge, the boys in the Troop actually made the awards again this year!  They worked very hard reclaiming oak and spruce from a local barn.  They plained, cut, routered, glued, and bradded everything you see with very little adult help!  You can see result of their hard work in the trophies below:

In addition to the Corn-Hole tourney to keep everyone busy, we will also have the music of our favorite DJ on-site as usual blasting the tunes.  We did not have many yard sale/flea marketeers show up last year, but there were a few that toughed it out and kept everybody busy..  That being said, we cannot encourage you enough to bring any old parts you would like to trade/sell this year.  We want this event to be the best it can for the competitors, the spectators, and the Troop.  If you have any ideas on how to make the show better, please take the time to contact us.

As always, compeitors are given one free meal with entrance into show. We usually will have choice of hot dog, BBQ, or burger, chips, and a canned drink.  We will most likely also have a desert treat like a brownie or rice crispy treat available.  Of course all the food will be available for purchase by the general public.

Competitors can arrive as early as they want.  Parking will be on blacktop, but we are looking into having grass space if desired.  All entrants need to be signed-in before 3:30 so that judging may begin.  We hope to have awards this year around 6:00.  Canopys and camp chairs are welcomed and competitors are encouraged to use them.  Car clubs are highly encouraged to attend, and we will be more than happy to add other special classes if we know at least 5 cars will be in attendance.
