Bahamas is a dream paradise. However, while not every island has resorts, there are some main areas in this beautiful group of islands that you need to consider when planning your trip. We don’t want you panicking as soon as you get here. So here are the top places you can stay when planning a vacation in the Bahamas.

New Providence/Nassau

New Providence, also known as Nassau is the most populated area in the Bahamas. It’s no surprise that it also has the most number of places and activities to try like scuba diving, snorkeling, shopping, and many more. The good news is that the place is also home to a variety of hotels such as the Orange Hill Beach Inn and Clib Land’s or Resort.  The best mid-range hotels are Marley Resort & Spa and Sandyport Beach Resort but if you are bringing your family with you, we suggest you stay in Grand Hyatt Baha Mar.

Cat Island

Cat Island is the opposite of Nassau with only 1,500 residents. You can imagine how peaceful this island is. So if you want a more tranquil place to stay and enjoy the beaches to yourself, you can stay in Cat Island. There are beautiful budget hotels in Cat Island such as Cookie House

and Shannas Cove Resort. They offer comfortable rooms and great food but you plan on scaling your budget, you can opt for Flamingo Bay Ocean Club or Pigeon Cay Beach Club.

Andros Island

Although the largest island in the Bahamas, Andros Island has a relatively small number of residents. Since it is quite peaceful and its waters are abundant with marine life, it is a favorite of many scuba divers. A large barrier reef, The Tongue of the Ocean is the main attraction for scuba divers. If you plan to stay here, there is only one budget hotel called Nathan’s Lodge. Mid range hotels include the Swain’s Cay Lodge and Love at First Sight Hotel. If you are with your family, you can stay at the Sunset Resort Bahamas.

Exumas Cay Island

Exumas Cay Island is a chain of 350 islands and is often a jump-off point to Miami. Since it is directly accessible from the States, you can reach here without re-routing to the other islands or chartering a boat.  There are many hotels in the area too such as the Island Times Villas, which is the most affordable hotel in the place. If you are bringing your family, you can stay at Augusta Bay Bahamas. The price is mid-range so you don’t have to worry about getting broke considering that kids may love to shop and try more activities on the island.
