- Shah Faisal Mosque
Shah Faisal mosque also known as Faisal Masjid, is the biggest mosque in Pakistan and South Asia. It is named after the late King Faisal bin Abdul-Aziz. It was completed in 1986. Its area is 5000 and it can accommodate 300,000 people. It was the biggest mosque of the world from 1986 to 1993 but now it is on sixth position. It is located on north end of the city near Marghalla Hills. Its design was created by a Turkish architect and shaped like “desert Bedouin’s tent”. Four Minarets at the corners make this landmark more beautiful.
- Pakistan Monument Museum
It is a flower-shaped building. The fours petals represent the four provinces of Pakistan. It is located in front of Pakistan Monument at Shakarparian, from here you can learn about the history of Pakistan. There are many books and art that reflects the history of Pakistan. This museum was created by the government of Pakistan in order to pay tribute to the people who sacrificed their lives for a motherland. It showcase some of the main monuments that happened to gain a separate homeland.
- Saidpur Village
Saidpur village is one of the oldest villages in Pakistan situated in the slopes of Marghalla hills. The village is rich in history and heritage. This place is used as a picnic point for local visitors and foreigner tourists. The name of the village is after Sultan Said Khan. In the early time, the village was converted into a Hindu worship by Raja Man Singh. Temples show the culture and history of Hindu civilization. Besides culture and heritage there are many restaurants, galleries and showrooms to entertain its visitors. There is also a small museum full of pictures.
- Pir sohawa
Pir sohawa is a resort which is developing day by day. It is on 5000 feet height. This is a best place for holidays and picnic. It take 35 minutes to reach this resort through a link road. The point shows the fantastic and beautiful views of city at any time, day or night. The place is near to nature, so one can experience the wildlife and the sound of singing birds. A famous restaurant “Monal Restaurant” is the heart of Pir Sohawa. One can feel the breeze and fragrance during summer nights. In winters snowfall makes it more splendid. Pir sohawa is appreciated by both local and foreigners visitors.
- Lake View Park
Lake View Park also called Rawal Lake Park is a beautiful park located on Murree-Islamabad highway. It is constructed on the bank of Rawal Lake. It is a picnic point for the people of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. There are many things for amusement like passenger buses, trains and fun games.
